Quality Control
Our quality assurance procedures are based on four main approaches:
- Operator self-checks
- Statistical process control (SPC) - a statistically-based assessment of tests conducted by our Quality Assurance staff
- Process data logging (an online assessment process; 18 out of a total of 80 process parameters can be recorded for each shot)
- Incoming and outgoing goods inspection
Quality assurance procedures are defined for each individual component depending on requirements. The correlation between individual quality aspects and process parameters can be established as early as the process development stage and action control limits defined. The assessment of process data helps provide maximum transparency and traceability.
The analysis of materials and components is provided by our own testing laboratory. All relevant material data can be determined "in house", thus avoiding delays. Basic polymers are subjected to testing as they arrive in our plant; we also determine optimal process parameters, for example the influence of crystalline structure on the wear performance of plain bearings.
We can, of course, test basic polymers on arrival in our plant.
Some of the equipment used by our Quality Assurance Department:
- 3D metrology machines
- Universal testing machine
- Production equipment for test-pieces meeting CAMPUS requirements
- Equipment for defining the melt flow index
- Equipment for defining density
- DSC
- TGA
- Concentricity testing equipment
