Compounding

compound_resin Due to our inhouse compounding facility we are able to offer "tailor-made" material to solve your problem.

There are standard materials for the required properties, but the standard materials often have their commercial and technical weaknesses.
The optimisation of the plastic's property profile for the required application is often only achieved by careful formulation.

The proper integration of component and function and the advantage of the direct injection moulding process can often achieve a significant cost advantage.

Materials can be enhanced to fit specific purposes by the use of selected additives:

  • Specific dielectric properties
  • Resistance to high temperatures
  • chemically inert
  • Abrasion resistance plus "stick-slip free" anti-friction properties
  • Able to withstand high static loads
  • Able to withstand alternating load cycles
  • Permanently flexible damping behaviour
  • Colour-fast, UV resistant
  • Can be used under ionising radiation
These properties can either be considered in isolation or in combination.

Examples are:

  • Thermoplastic fluorplastics such as PFA, FEP, ETFE
  • True high-performance polymers such as PI, TORLON PAI, PEEK, PPS, PEI

The results of this type of formulation procedure which is customised for the individual application are VPs - "value added polymers" which we create in our own compounding facilities.
